I bought this motor to replace the 6.8L stroked LS3 that was stupid fast and just ridiculous. I installed this 87K motor just to make it to MATG years ago. It is a bone stock LS1. I only updated the oil pump. After driving if at the GAP I never took it back out. It just drives so well, it works. It's not a race car, it's setup for the street, only been autocrossed 2 times. It is setup up for the twistys. For a street car I feel the sweet spot on these cars is 350-370 RWHP, for the track I just don't know. This is what I believe to be V8R's latest cooling system. And it works REALLY well. I just flushed the system and replaced the T-stat with a 190d one. I had a 160d in it with the old radiator and it temps would creep with the AC on in traffic. Now its like a rock. With AC on they creep down... As both fans are on wide open. This car has a PWM fan controller and I'll never swap another car without this type of setup, I love it.\r\n\r\nI had V8R's remote filter oil pan (now on the shelf) on the car with a remote oil filter cooler. This was when it had the 6.8L in it. Literally when I went to the stock LS1 everything on the car got simpler. Well I don't like the backlash setup on it. Commonly Ford 8.8's are either to tight (whine) or too loose (clunky). Out of the dozen or so I've dealt with I've never had one I really liked. This one is too loose for my liking.\r\n\r\n2. Windshield is pitted and has wiper scratches in it\r\n\r\n3. Rearview mirror is, I don't even know what it is, see the pics.\r\n\r\n4. Firstly, you won't meet a more honest seller. Secondly, this is probably the best sorted conversion I have driven. Clutch feel and steering are perfect. All the bugs have been worked out. It takes a long long time to sort the details and Mike took the time to do it right. I'm guessing 320 to 330 at the wheels and a long, flat torque curve. Having built every generation Miata, both V6 and V8, he's right at the sweet spot for drivable power. This car is a real blast to drive. Need bigger brakes? Throw a set of RX8 sport rotors and calipers on with some Hawk pads and put yourself through the windshield. $700 all in. No need for the fancy stuff unless you're doing dedicated track work. I'll be real surprised if this car doesn't fetch over $30k and worth every penny. It would take $45 to $50k in our shop to duplicate this build, and you supply the car! The yellow light is the check engine light, as they are suppose to it comes on with the key on and then turns off once started indicating no fault codes So... in North Carolina it has passed the last 8 years up till this year as they stopped doing emission testing in my county.\r\n\r\nYou'd have to jump in an NC to check the leg room, The throttle pedal is even with the brake as I found it easier to get on and off the throttle/brakes.
