Check the front lower A arm attachment points as they have a reputation for breaking off. I would imagine that it would get very dicey very quickly if you were in the middle of a turn, ( high loading ) One of the TR I had had been previously broken off and crudely welded back on. There are actually reinforcement kits made to strengthen this known problem. Also if you hear a strange skreek noise while pulling away from a stop. ( it took me quite a bit of time and energy to figure it out ) it is most likely the diff mounts. They are made of ridiculously thin sheet metal and they tear. Causing the noise, you have to pull the diff out to weld them up, there are also kits to reinforce these as well ( pretty common issue ) But they are great sounding cars. I sold mine a few years ago. And then the new owner wanted me the rebuild the motor and weak tranny, and then wanted triple Webers and Monza exhaust. During the last 6 months of 2017 it looks like close to 20 TR6s were up for auction; first half of 2018, that number climbed to almost 2 dozen, then since midyear 2018, another 3 dozen. Prices for cars during these time frames seemed to cluster between $10K and $20K, with only 10 or about 13% commanding more than $20K.
