I bought two Betas in New Zealand partly as donors for this purpose. I gave up when I found that the lower valence in the front would need to be cut. It's definitely doable, you just need to source the brackets and a body & paint shop to do some minor mods. By the way, the HPE rear \"Euro\" bumper is dimensionally identical to Coupe, just different mounting brackets. I ended up restoring one of the donors :) On the subject of this auction, the gorgeous upholstery is stated to be leather and that's fine. Many commenters say they had leather in their series 1 coupes. Does anyone have a factory colour chart? My series 1 coupes came with imitation leather (really hard to tell the difference until you look at the backside of the material) and now have leather, but that was done by me. Here's a 2002 attempt (the author states \"mistakes are possible\") to collate the original factory colour options into one chart: http://www.lancia-beta.de/grund/grund-re16-e.htm - note that the '75 coupe didn't have leather option, at least according to this chart. Montecarlo / Scorpion did. I have looked at dozens of Betas over the years and follow all the Facebook Groups for the model. It cost US $2,500 in 2013 to basically replace everything but the dash controls and now it works beautifully except the Denso rotary compressor clutch squeals every time it kicks on (not the belt, the clutch bearing). I had the compressor changed out and the alignment of the compressor checked and the AC guy gave up on it in the end. So I live with that. When it is 100 degrees out the compressor is on full time anyway. I think it had a $5,400 MSRP. My budget was about $4,000. I was saving up for a 911 which was twice the price as the Beta Coupe but it would have taken another couple of years to save up. So my local Oldsmobile dealer had the Fiat/Lancia franchise. I was probably 20 at the time. In my little town nobody knew what a Lancia was and most people of that era came to an Oldsmobile dealership to buy a Cutlass. So there was little interest in the Beta Coupe. But to me, 2.0 liter twin cam, FWD, 5 speed, 4 bucket seat sports coupe, leather upholstery, alloy wheels, sunroof, Pirelli tires, and if I could get it for $4,000 then I\u2019d go Italian rather than German. I think I negotiated $1,000 off and I borrowed the $400 from my dad to make the deal. I upgraded the sound system with an AM/FM cassette, CB radio. Remember we had a 55 mph national speed limit and Sammy Hagar\u2019s \u201cCan\u2019t drive 55\u201d, was an anthem for those of us that lived for the road trip.
