This is nothing but surface rust. While it looks bad, I can assure you the frame is solid. I had mines liquid film just to be safe, it was cheap insurance to keep a great truck alive. In regards to towing, the factory rating for bumper towing with these is 1000 lbs unbraked weight or 2000 lbs braked weight. I have a hitch on mines and the \u201cbigger\u201d engine. Anything under 3500 lbs is ok. Just adjust your driving style accordingly. GLWS.
