If you had two identical cars in this condition, one Tunis Beige and the other in white-black-red, which one would be worth more? And also, maybe a video showing the car parked, in Beverly Hills, and showing people looking at it. Some common questions/statements with our thoughts below:\r\n\r\nI Need Outdoor Shots!\r\n\u00a0Not to worry, we add outdoor to nearly every auction of ours, so if you do not see them in the gallery below yet, make sure that Watch button above is clicked!\u00a0 But in most cases they are in the gallery too.\u00a0I think it's worth mentioning as there is usually someone who asks about the merits of studio vs outdoor and there are pros and cons to each. We have found that the indoor light is quite a lot better at showing actual condition. I think there is an idea that somehow the indoor shots hide flaws when it is really quite the opposite. The indoor lights will show a fly\u2019s eyelash left on a car and we spend quite a bit of time on every car making sure that they are prime time ready. The light is more consistent and because it's controllable, it allows for pictures unaffected by clouds, time of day, angle, background and more. Outdoor shots have their place for sure and with certain paints can show off the flip/flop of pearls and highlight some colors more, but with the sun creating shadows and highlights, creates incredibly inconsistent shots that often times hides condition or hyper exaggerates it. We like both and we generally show both, but I definitely like sharing the experience of us having photographed thousands and thousands of cars that the studio makes for a more truthful environment for condition in most scenarios.\r\n\r\nDo you Photoshop your Pictures? \r\nWe do not retouch any flaws on cars in post-edit or photoshop nor add filters. The really good, well maintained or properly restored ones have done exceptionally well at auction. Their values have come down in recent years after a rush not so long ago to all time highs. Don\u2019t think buyers at the time were concerned about power and speed as I recall there isn\u2019t a lot to work with here. It is more about grace and style that the driver shows he/she has \u201carrived\u201d without paying huge amounts of money then for its\u2019 bigger 300SL/Gullwing Siblings. Obviously, Max Hoffman was smart to convince DBAG to build something on a smaller scale/price for the American Market that would be a better entry point. It worked here. Only issues were longevity. Many cars were not kept up and literally rusted away. Folks were eager to get their hands on the upcoming W113 Pagoda\u2019s. IMHO, the 190\u2019s should provide a comfortable sport cruising convertible for practically any environment and event. By sheer numbers, a lot of great input from the Mercedes Masters who really know their cars and can make great observations as to the quality of restoration done. As with Art, it is always the interpretation on behalf of the Restorer(Artist) though this car\u2019s rendition was certainly hit out of the ballpark. Everyone who joined in saw it and cordially appreciated what it stood for. We don\u2019t see such good work all the time so it was a refreshing change to see as good as it can be here. Not sure if this was mentioned before here, it is a subject of discussion in the 190SL community. I restored a 190SL and looked at adding a passenger side mirror for obvious reasons. The problem is if you match the driver's side mirror's location, aft on the fender, a passenger side mirror is blocked by the A pillar, making it essentially useless. I could never understand why those German designers/engineers did not have the foresight of locating the mirror on the door of the 190SL. They did correct their mistake on the next MB model 200 series to on the doors. Perhaps they didn't have the foresight of people actually spending money for an extra functional mirror. I made the mistake of not realizing this problem until my car was too far in restoration. To me, adding a mirror on the passenger door and the driver side on the fender would bug me. I also made the mistake of not joining the 190SL owner's group before hand so I could have avoided this \"error\" as well as others. This car was well bought, I sold mine a couple years ago privately, for over $100k more, because to get this level of restoration, you have spent a lot of money.
