I received the Pacer from my dad in 1982 after I crashed my 1979 AMC Spirit GT beyond repair. I blacked out the chrome trim with self-adhesive tape which was popular at the time, and installed faux lambskin seat covers to prevent me from burning my a__ during the extracurricular activities. My Pacer, with the 258, served me well and I eventually gave it back to my dad who put another 20K miles on it before selling. In total, between Dad and I, we put over 120K trouble-free miles on our little Pacer. The car was purchased new by Dad at an Erdelac American Motors dealership in Cleveland, OH. The valve cover bolts were very loose and tightened. The engine was spray washed and the pictures you see are after being driven 1000 miles. I would never say that a 47 year old car from the 70's doesn't leak, but this car seems to be exceptionally maintained. It is stored in a borrowed garage so the owner puts cardboard under it, but leakage in minimal. After being parked a few weeks there is about a dime sized drip under the differential. As for the AC; It is the original R-12 system. The AC blows cold.
