However, I had a 1968 LeMans, which had the same front valance as this car, with wrap around turn signals. GTOs should have the rectangular turn signals with the chrome \"gunsight\" crosshairs on it. I mention this so that the seller may wish to disclose what happened to the original valance, or if it was like this when he acquired it, and so that the buyer may want to take this into account if he wishes to restore it to the original factory GTO valance. Side note: I put huge sway bars (1 5/16 front, 1\" rear) on my LeMans, and new rear coil springs, and it handled pretty well. It had power drums and power steering. I autocrossed it once. I had the slowest time, scrubbed the shoulders off the front tires, and boiled the brake fluid. However I for the life of my cannot figure why anyone would spec a GTO that came with a 400 4 brl Dual Exhaust Drivetrain wouldn\u2019t spend an extra I believe around $200, for a 4 speed Muncie Transmission? Even the Turbo 400 Hydramatic that was available was around $600, that was actually quicker. One of my best cars ever, was a 1969 LeMans Wagon I built with the help of a totaled 69 GTO I had after a salesman not paying attention flying across the spaces through a Mall Parking Lot T boned me and bent the chassis! So I found a low mileage, very clean all black wagon, then swapped out the 400 4 brl Dual Exhaust TH 400 and 3:55 Posi rear axle, along with the entire front clip and front bucket seats and console from the GTO. Plus added Moog CarGo Coils in the rear, with Catalina Safari front springs that actually raised the car 1\u201d, front and rear, that left me clearance for bigger wheels and tires, that were AT/Mud&Snow rated. Back in the mid 70\u2019s while stationed at Ft Carson CO. That I used as a daily driver and kind of adventure vehicle up in the Rocky Mountains with my buddies, sort of like a full sized Rally Wagon! I ended up adding a 4:10 12 bolt Rear, along with an overdrive unit to help on the highway! These are not small cars and the front fenders are shimmed and bolted on and a large hood sits boxed in between them. Any adjustment to a fender, a hinge or a bump stop is amplified on the diagonal making it an exercise in futility to perfectly gap these panels. The endura material is notorious for spider cracks and minor warpage. Prep work and sanding techniques are different from the steel that adjoins it, easy to not get right. But understand, that these cars came out of the factory with ill aligned gaps. My uncle claims to have made the 2-3 shift somewhere upwards of 85mph during a particularly competitive race with one of the local Roadrunners. That anecdote is usually followed up with a story of one of the numerous rebuilds on the engine so obviously not a sustainable way to drive it, but the Saginaw trannys were tough. And I can't tell you how cool I think a manual with the console delete is...now if only it were the uber cool front bench seat! \r\n\r\nAll my cars have been black or saddle interiors and I've always thought that parchment was the nicest, most versatile interior color Pontiac used. It just goes so darn well with every paint option.\r\n\r\n\r\nFront and rear glass gutter work on these is common and not trivial but if the frame, floor, & panels can be confirmed solid, then a big bullet can be dodged there. Panel, door, & bumper alignment indicates the car has been apart and the '68 valance confirms that. \r\n\r\nIs this the original dash or the replacement cover?
