Only 6\" longer than a Beetle, yet SO MUCH more room, and not priced in the ozone layer like the T2's (vans). I love my '66 and drive it every opportunity I can. Our German Shepherd has plenty of room with the back seat folded down, and with all that glass, visibility is excellent. Just keep the engine revved up--don't \"lug\" the engine or she'll overheat. After all, it's air-cooled. Finally, pay attention to the valve lash adjustments--required twice as often (every 3K miles) as the Beetle. It is easy to do. \n\nThis is an excellent example (sans the FI system) of the German engineering of yesterday--when the engineers ruled the roost and not the marketing bozos.
