The cars are beautiful, fast and have best in class range.\n\nWhat most people don\u2019t know is that the company is 70% owned by the Saudi Arabian national government (if that matters to you) and, in 5 years 70% of their cars will be made there (this particular example was built in Arizona). \n\nThey will not meet their current sales projections as the guidance calls for them to sell more cars than all Porsche models combined, by 2026. It\u2019s not a total rule breaker, but people around here just don\u2019t typically like complaints about what is or isn\u2019t included here. It might get voted down again by more community members. We\u2019ll see. \n\nWe get plenty of comments stating that certain cars are not BaT-worthy. And we have heard the same since shortly after we turned on the site in 2007. \n\nWe include cars here that are interesting. New Broncos are interesting. That is why there is a huge waiting list for them. Lucids are very interesting, and there are wait times and delays and scarcity. Many people don\u2019t want to wait two years for desirable models, so the flip model is a mainstay of the overall car market given that confluence of factors. \n\nThese new cars being so popular here speaks to the quality of the experience in this marketplace, in our opinion. We\u2019d rather buy a nearly new special car from a trusted BaT seller then from some vague Craigslist seller who \u2018knows what he has.\u2019 Here it is going to bid to what it is worth and the buyers get some more control. When we started BaT Auctions, we never actually considered how well it would work for newer inventory like this. Early Cayman GT4s were one of the first models to prove it. So should we ban anything younger than 3 years (or 1 year, or 5 years, or some other arbitrary limitation) like you suggest? We don\u2019t think so. \n\nWhen we look at the homepage, this car is flanked by a GTO Judge and a 2003 Mustang Cobra, and there are 300 20+ year old cars live for bidding right this instant. We don\u2019t think you have to worry that BaT is only about flipping new cars. We\u2019re just not. But we don\u2019t mind mixing in some interesting ones to keep people on their toes. OVER 97% of the cars they sold were the $45-60k version - they sell, relatively VERY FEW Model S sedans anymore- and the less expensive models are not the competition for Lucid. Tesla also makes home batteries, solar panels and other 'stuff'. Lucid only makes an $80k+ sedan (the Air), with an SUV on the way in (maybe) 2024 and MAYBE an affordable version 2 years after that.
