That said, there is no embedded radio antenna wires running up the center. I think on the Avant it's all the roof antenna. 2). The hose you see in pics 184-186 is a boost hose running to a switch. The car has a methanol injection kit installed that was never utilized/wired up. That hose pulls boost readings to the switch that's set to trigger the pump at 10PSI. The pump is mounted low on the passenger side frame rail (using existing mount hole for stock air box. You'll note in pic 182 you can see a second washer tank in the passenger cowl. That is an \"intensive wash\" tank from a 92 S4 that I made a custom bracket for. That is the tank that was going to be used for the methanol injection. I decided to tune without it and so it's all there but as I noted, not wired up. I'm really taken back by the early bids and gracious comments/questions. Wanted to give you some background on the car and my 21 years of ownership. Please don't hesitate to use the Contact Seller button if you have any direct questions for me. This is also a car that should be seen, the pictures do not do it justice. There is not even a hint of a ding or scratch, it's hard to believe how straight and beautiful it is. Any/all imperfections are pointed out in the pictures. \r\n\r\nIn 1996 the car was purchased new in Kansas City MO by an older couple (yes, I'm older now too). They owned it a little over 3 years and used it pretty sparingly. In 99 it was acquired by owner #2, an airline pilot a few towns over from me. He was an Audi enthusiast and already had a daily 1994 S4 Sedan. The S6 Avant was his baby. Sounds clich\u00e9 but he used it only on weekends to drive to the golf course. He took insane care of it, I remember it was covered in his garage when I arrived to see/buy. It had just under 28K miles. He always had it serviced by DCH Audi in Millburn NJ. The car was bone stock with the exception of a MTM Stage 1+ chip. \r\n\r\nIn 2003 I traded in my 01 S4 Avant (needing something cheaper due to a new baby and down to a single income). I did however always want the 2.2 20VT S6 Avant but could never find a cherry example in Pearl. Well this shows up 12 miles away and the rest is history. \r\n\r\nI used it as my daily from 2003 to 2007. During my ownership it's ALWAYS been garaged and had Amsoil synthetic. It wasn't taken out in snow/slush/salt. A sacrilege for a Quattro I know, however I knew what I had and as you can tell by the condition, I'm a bit of a fastidious owner. My intent was to keep it forever. My wife's Forrester got the winter duty when roads were nasty. During the first 4 years the car was well maintained and I also began some modifications, first of which were the brakes. The FMIC followed as did the oil cooler where the stock IC used to be. It also received a set of ABT 18\" wheels/rubber. I then purchased a daily \"beater\" and the S6 was now only a fun/weekend car. It saw a few \"Waterfest\" shows and was enjoyed at local Audi get-together/drives. \r\n\r\nAbout this time I really started to think about modifying and acquired LOTS of parts. I wanted to build the ultimate sleeper, keeping the exterior and interior stock and focusing on the drivetrain. The thought was to build the bottom end and go with a big turbo, maybe even a stroker. I had purchased a GT30R and had a basement full of parts. I was speaking to Brian Weldon a lot at the time if any of you Audi guys can tell. Seeing \"Haps\" posts didn't help either. Spent lots of time speaking to Javad at 034 Motorsports and lots of $. Then it all came to a screeching halt when a serious health issue impacted our family. \r\n\r\nFortunately we got past this time but a lot had changed. I realized now that \"less was more\" and although I still wanted to upgrade the drivetrain I was now more interested in a quick spooling set up that would be fun around town and spirited fall drives on a country road. I was never going to race it or do 4 wheel burnouts. That goal resulted in how you see the car presented today. \r\n\r\nI got on the horn with EFI Express (Marc Swanson) and we worked out the best combo of parts for my goals with the final step being a custom dyno tune at his shop. Marc supplied the BW turbo with the custom hot side flange to bold up to the SQ EM (it's not the Wagner version, it's the real deal)\r\n\r\nAll work over my ownership has been completed by Eurosport of Westfield (Sean and Mike) and Quattrohaus in Newark (Luis). Both shops have been fantastic to work with over the years with Luis having done most of the big ticket items including turbo, cams, clutch/flywheel and entire suspension installs. \r\n\r\nCollege expenses and COVID pushed the project back again but there was always forward progress. The car has never just sat. Even when not being used a lot it was started weekly, driven around to bring it up to temp and fluids were changed. Low mileage cars that sit for years on end can be a maintenance nightmare, they need to be driven!! \r\n\r\nThis past August a promise between me and my son over a decade in the making was fulfilled. We took that New England road trip to EFI Express in NH and watched with big smiles as Marc tuned the car to perfection. Our drive home was chocked full of memories we'll cherish. This car and our time together driving when he was just a little passenger is why he's also a \"car guy\" I'm proud. \r\n\r\nTime for the next chapter and for a new owner to enjoy all this Avant has to offer. It's been an honor to own/drive/modify, preserve and enjoy this car, however I've gotten more into older vehicles now (restoring a 91 Jeep Cherokee Briarwood) and hope for a pick-up of my age in the future enjoy. Stromung systems use a magnaflow resonator and their custom stromung muffler/tips for the URS cars. Jeff Postopak (spelling?) details the generations of the stromung systems with changes on the URS Quattroworld FAQ. My car has a high Flo cat, magnaflow resonator, and magnaflow rear muffler. It is designed similar to a Stromung but tucked tighter and uses multiple V-bands (5 to be precise). I love the exhaust and i would be hard pressed to think the previous owner/stuard of my fine example was Not passing smog. \r\n\r\nHe had the car over 10years. Being in TX now they don\u2019t care as she\u2019s considered a classic bearing such plates. Very excited to drive and take care of this pearl for many years to come. My dad leased a new black/black 1995.5 S6 Avant for three years when I was age 9 to 11, and we had such good times together in it (including listening to The Beach Boys on repeat), and I have been hoping to buy an excellent condition Avant for the past 18 years...in the meantime, I bought a Canadian import black/black 1997 S6 Sedan and owned it for four years but had to sell it in 2009, and then I owned a black/black 1995.5 S6 Sedan for about a year in 2013 until a massive water leak totaled the car. Needless to say, this pearl Avant checked all my boxes. \r\n\r\nI have two sons now (5 and 7 months), so am looking forward to sharing the experience of this incredible car with them as they grow up. The photos of the seller and his son washing this car when his son was a toddler and again in the same driveway many years later leaves me with an even greater desire to fill this car with great memories with my family. The car will be living with us in Boston, so if anyone knows of a reputable mechanic in the area to help me maintain this car, please let me know!
