A compression test might not be a bad idea, but rebuilding/replacing this engine would be a minor detail in the grand scheme of things. The AMC 360 is a pretty durable engine, the TH400 is nearly bullet proof, the Borg Warner Quadratrac is also quite good, finding the special fluid can be challenging, and hopefully wasn't replaced with something else or it won't end well. being out here on the green side of the mountains rust is NOT a problem for these beauties... only possible issue would be if the rear side window seals leaked and water collected in the rear quarters, or the vents up front clogged with pine needles and water leaked under the carpet and rusted the floor pans - NEITHER are likely with this one as it has likely been kept in a garage. This one looks well cared for and has aged nicely, it's legit.
