I diligently looked for a link to a copy of the XJ-S Production Schedule (I think it came from Jaguar Forum). The copy I have was summarized by Anders Ditlev Clausanger of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust. It documents 78 produced 1995 (this means shipped in 1995 of a 1995 model year) 6.0 2+2 9L's. There were also 2 units shipped in 1996. These were truly the last of the V12 for Jaguar. As you know, parts are getting rare, but some neat attributes to these cars. Under the engine cover (don't lose this...you can't find them) sits a single 12 point distributor (rids previous issues of duel 6 point distributors) and NEVER open the trunk before waiting a few seconds for the antenna to retreat back into the car or you will shear it off with the spoiler. I realised I'd never be able to afford to buy one if I stayed at Jaguar and bought my first XJ-S convertible (a '91 Classic) in 1995. I then upgraded it to a one owner '95 V12 in 1999. It was an Aug '94 built car and like this one, one of the last V12 Jaguar convertibles built. It had been returned from the Jaguar lease program and the Jaguar dealer in Thousand Oaks, CA had purchased it from Jaguar USA in Mahwah, NJ. I put my deposit down on it sight unseen before they'd even received it from Jaguar. Mine is the same colour (Topaz) and interior combination which is my favorite colour (the '91 was Champagne Gold). After using the XJ-S as my daily driver for 10 years, I bought a Winter Gold '07 XK convertible but decided to keep the XJ-S as the dealer was only offering around $7K as a trade in. They are really great daily drivers and while a car first sold in 1975 is a little dated compared to a present day Jaguar, the build quality on these late XJS models is excellent. While traveling in England, the entire class of '83 witnessed the sleek & Elegant movement of an astonishing Black XJS making her way through traffic. As she glided to the right of our tour buses, she managed to grab the attention of every soul aboard (including our tour guides). What a thing of grace & beauty! So much so, that we demanded a tour of a London Jaguar showroom! Permission was granted. An experience I have never forgotten. Such a true work of art! The distinctive fragrance of true English leather, the understated beauty of polished wood Veneers, the protruding Bonnet of this long sleek wheel base sport Grand Tourer... This was unmistakably JAGUAR! The only true \"cat\" in my humble opinion. Once I learned of FORD's plan to retire the V12, the quest was on. Of my preference, it was Glacier White, finished in Coffee interior with cream piping. Today my '95 (with 14K original miles) she still retains the distinctive smells of the Connolly Hides. My love affair is such, that I now sit on the advisory board of NADA (specializing in this series of Jaguar). The last of these Cabrio beauties were the 6.0L V12. Only 78 copies of these 2+2 Cabrios in 1995, with a US price of $82,550 (without applicable taxes & luxury surcharges of that era). 1996 (Final production run) saw only two V12's in this format, but only as special order. One to the FORD family (with spoiler delete), and the other in England as a RHD. Other than those two, I've been advised that only two US specimens exist with mileage under 15K. Mine (which I will never sell), and a simply gorgeous Topaz such as this with under 3K miles. To the LUCK buyer of this rare Topaz cat, restore her to Concours, and you will be rewarded many fold beginning in just a few short years!
