It will maybe take me more than one comment because I won\u2019t remember everything. I\u2019ve read all the comments up through Sunday night and read the description a couple times, plus watched the three videos. If I ask you something that you\u2019ve answered it\u2019s unintentional. \r\n\r\nWhat carburetor and manifold? Can you take a photo with the air cleaner assembly removed? Have you payed any attention to jetting? At least checked how the spark plugs look?\r\n\r\nWhat\u2019s the ignition/distributor setup? Electronic guts? Is there a vacuum advance? It\u2019s hard to see from the photos. Did you pay attention or do anything special to get a suitable advance curve? Does it run on regular grade gas?\r\n\r\nFord used at least two different unbalance weights on the harmonic dampers and flywheels during the small block production years. Are you fairly sure that you have the correct and matching ones in both places? When I watched your videos it seems fairly smooth so you\u2019re likely correct in suspecting tge vibes are from the poly engine mount insulators but it\u2019s still worth asking.\r\n\r\nThere\u2019s an insulating wrap on the exhaust pipe back by the rear axle. On one side but not the other. Is there a purpose for that? I also see the one near the front that likely protects the starter.\r\n\r\nRelated question. I see what appears to be a dry cell racing type battery tucked in the passenger compartment on its side. Is this battery enough for daily driver use? Did the manufacturer give any life expectancy estimate? Have you had any starting issues? Is that why you added the heat insulation near the starter? It appears you did a beautiful job on the battery cables. What gage are they? I also see an alternator conversion. Do you know the alternator output rating?\r\n\r\nI see a mechanical cooling fan but no radiator shroud. Have you tested the cooling on a hot summer day with the AC on in stop and go traffic? Does it maintain its normal operating temperature?\r\n\r\nDid you do any insulation in the interior, Dynamat style or otherwise? I assume the black modern looking control knobs are from Vintage Air. Is that correct? I see what appears to possibly be the original headlight switch closest to the key switch. Do you have any old style control knobs that you saved?\r\n\r\nDoes the Vintage Air setup include a working heater? Are the heater and AC hooked into working defroster vents? Is this a modern R134 AC setup? \r\n\r\nCan you comment any more on the wiper conversion? Is it a two speed setup? Is there any intermittent or one pass capability? How do they work? Have you driven in a heavy rain?\r\n\r\nHow about the steering effort, especially at low speed? Like cutting hard into a parking space. How about the clutch pedal? Easy, medium, stiff? I think I can possibly see an old style throwout arm clutch release in a bottom photo. Is that correct? No cable or hydraulic setup? Finally, how about the manual brakes? How is the pedal effort? And the actual stopping? Will it stop straight and short? If you apply the brakes no-hands does it stop straight? It appears very well done. I think see a well located adjustable proportioning valve.\r\n\r\nI just looked up Maiden, NC. Right in the heart of the NASCAR industry it appears, which is reassuring. From what I\u2019ve heard there are plenty of talented fabricators and car builders who\u2019ve grown tired of the grind and branched out. Did you personally do the chassis fab and floor repair on this Ranchero? If so, could you comment on your level if experience and knowledge? Or please do the same for the shop or others who did the work.\r\n\r\nThe big two in chassis work like this are solid welds and getting everything square and straight to the world, especially on an old car that may be warped to begin with. Can you comment on the build process and what measures you took to get this stuff right? For example, when welding the brackets to the rear end, what measures did you take to keep from warping the axle tubes? Since you built the car have you had the four wheel alignment checked by an experienced shop?\r\n\r\nIs that the original 8\u201d rear end? Do you know the axle ratio, or approximate ratio? Does it have the original drum brakes from whatever vehicle it came from? What kind of inspection and reconditioning has been done to the rear end and brakes? Finally, what\u2019s the diameter of your Wilwood front brakes? Do you know what approximate minimum wheel size is required for brake clearance? \r\n\r\nFinally, the writeup stated that you did under car rust repair. Can you comment more on this? What was required, where your patch panels were from, and what products you used after the repairs to prevent future rust.\r\n\r\nAs I mentioned in my first paragraph, I really like your Ranchero, like really very much. The carb is an edelbrock 650 with electric choke on a edelbrock performer 289 intake manifold. Distributor is accel electronic. Alternator is a 140 amp 1 wire. Clutch uses the original linkage with a 10 inch clutch. The deep cycle dry cell battery works great and shouldnt be any problem in daily driving. The manual steering is not bad, since its a light vehicle and doesnt have huge tires.\r\n\r\nIt gets up to 95 degrees with high humidity here in nascar country and i've never had a problem with cooling ... engine temps stay about 190 degrees. The vintage air system keeps the interior cool and has heat and defrost. I also dynomated the entire interior ... which makes a huge improvement in comfort.\r\n\r\nThe seat is a TMI universal sport series.\r\n\r\nAs mentioned im fortunate to be in an area where there is a lot of fabrication and hot rodder talent due to the nascar teams.
