On the flip side, when I retired to my last 115 daily driver due to Major rust issues, it actually did not produce very much blow-by but it burned a lot of oil... The balance of the 12 V gets eaten up by a big honking resistor mounted on the firewall. Not efficient in any way. Plus, it takes so much of your battery\u2019s amps to get those little 0.9 V elements hot enough to get the engine to fire, it limits the cranking amps for the huge 1.8hp starter motor.\nYes my cars are in a heated garage and no I don\u2019t drive them in the snow but I do take them out in the cold if the roads are dry.
