It was elegant, attractive, had a great powertrain with the 4.5L & 4.9L pushrod V-8's, and truly a well-rounded car with outstanding quality. The interior trim and finishing's were of high workmanship and premium materials, the car felt well built, and still have a lot of old Cadillac flair that made the repeat buyers ignore the front-wheel-drive platform and highlight the smooth supple ride, terrific road manners, and overall great handling and comfort at any speed. Just like if they had released the 87 Allante with the 4.5, sorted the top leaks out before 89, 16 inch wheels, updated recaros........just like if they had then released th3 Northstar for MY 90 in the Allante when the r129 SL was released.......on and on. Seemed to be a common thread with the engines ...some did..others didn't.
