This Patrol is a remarkable example of an honest \u2018survivor\u2019 status classic. Most of what you see in these pics are original parts, or correct, original Nissan replacements. That\u2019s an original, OEM Nissan canvas top (one of the very few OEM Patrol canvas sets left in the United States) and those are OEM floor mats and Masonite door panels. The upholstery, while not original, is as close to OEM-looking as you can get\u2026\n\nThe rust spots are not in any structural locations, and if it were me, I would probably do little more than to clean the rusty spots up and treat them with a good heavy duty rust inhibiting gel, and just leave them alone. The body condition just doesn\u2019t warrant stripping it down and doing all the sheet metal work; and repainting it would be a shame since you\u2019d lose the original paint and patina\u2026\n\nJust keep it clean, and in tip top mechanical condition, and enjoy it out on the trails, and at the local cars and coffee, for another 56 years\u2026\n\nGood luck with the sale Leslie..! I too have seen this Patrol in person and none of mine started out as complete and well preserved as this one. Based on my experience the buyer will be very suprised at how reliable this Patrol will be. Built during the height of the Deming Revolution their parts are generally far better than today. These are much more HD than 4 x 4s built in the US during the same period. These were built in the heavy truck division of Nissan, not he car division. This is a very solid Patrol. It has 7 main bearings, in contrast with only 4 of the Toyota F engine and iterations, and that's the reason for the superior torque between the two. It's probably one of the longer lasting production engines running from 1959 to 2003. Extremely reliable. I've been driving one to this day since 1970. For over 35 years was a daily driver. Best car I've ever owned.\r\n\r\nThey quit importing the Patrol in 1969 to the USA. It\u2019s been ever present in other parts of the world, especially Australia. It's a unique 4x4 with much better driving conditions than similar ones of that era.\r\n\r\nThe Patrol on this auction is one of the best unrestored ones that I've seen, and you can clearly see that in the pictures and description and the owner of this one is without a doubt the most knowledgeable person of this model. Since they were designed to pull heavy loads their radiator is brass and HUGE. For me, that means I can hunt in them at 5 MPH all day in 100 degrees without overheating. That is the definition of sever duty and few machines can do it.
