Not that it would make much difference but if the work was done by well respected shops and/or expensive that would help some of the fence sitters, since it is a dealer sale and we can't talk to the owner. Also I'm a bit surprised at the no reserve. Dealer knows something we don't or someone is going to get what looks like a screaming deal. If folks have seen it in person (Denwerks?) and it checks out that could run up the final bids big time. The car has a carb not the mechanical FI from the SEs but that shouldn't matter much, it's all about condition when they get this old. We are trying to be perfectly candid and honest as our reputation is important to us. We are selling the car at no reserve as we are out of space, and need to make some room at our shop. We love old European cars and wish we could keep all of them and we hold on to stuff way too long!\nOriginally, I thought that the car was a 74k car, it does not look to be, what I\u2019m gathering from the paperwork is something around 137k. The odometer looks to have been replaced when the car had 114k on it in 1997 and the used replacement had 51k. (We have the original speedo to verify this). The odometer shows 74k, subtract the 51k and that gets about 23k. So 114k plus the 23k gets us to 137k. This all seemed to line up with the paper work. \nAlso after reviewing the documents it looks like the block was not rebuilt, but replaced. (Not 100% on that as the receipts are a little confusing) The cylinder head was rebuilt so that is original to the car. If a check of those areas shows it hasn't come back that would be a sign that the repairs were done correctly. Looks like they blended in the repairs and clear coated over those rather than repainting the whole car but could be reading that wrong. Looks like $7,400 worth of engine work in 1990, that's a lot. Body and engine work done in Maryland not Washington state that may explain why there was some rust. \n\nI have to cut the seller a ton of slack though, this is a No Reserve auction and looks like a very, very nice car.
