There were very few 996 Targas made compared to coupes, cabriolets, and even turbos. They have great visibility, cargo versatility and they are rare. The other thing that makes a Targa unique (besides the rear hatch) is the full-glass roof, which slides back behind the rear glass (a feature of the 993, 996, and 997 Targas)\n\nAs far as I know and the shop was concerned, all electronics & HVAC are working as designed. All power seat functions, windows, etc work great. In the video, I show the Targa top screen and roof function. The first version of this post said it had seat heaters (it does not) and I asked to have that removed. All electronics - outside of the key remote functions - are working fine. \n\nThe first key might have been an original, and it just physically came apart eventually. The second I had programmed by Porsche in Tallahassee, FL, and yet, it's remote stopped working six months later. Might have been a magnet in my golf bag... Anyway, ProTech said the remote was shot. While the kids rarely rode with me, their booster and car seats fit great. For a car seat, you do need to find the one with a narrow base, like the \"RodiFix\" from Maxi-Cosi. For the booster seat, the \"BubbleBum\" fits like a glove and is compact when not used. Regarding family duties, like grocery shopping, I could fit a whole large shopping cart full of stuff, top and bottom. Most of it fit in the frunk alone, with the remaining few behind the driver with the seats down. I am a golfer, so fitting two sets of clubs easily was really important to me. It made for a fun, easy life. Whether traveling with my wife up to Asheville for the weekend, or meeting my friends for a golf weekend in Florida, the Targa was ultra functional for a high-end sports car.
