The cost for the interior was over $6K USD from BAS at the time which was prior to 2004 which I believe hasn't gotten any less.\r\nThe current bid doesn't even cover the cost of replacing the interior. I believe the S Type is a under valued Jaguar as it is a far better car than the Mark 2 even though I do like the rounded tail end of a Mark 2.\r\nIf I remember correctly the head colour was green, my car had the original motor , gear box , overdrive, air conditioning. The steering and suspension has been rebushed and alignment set. The steering box was rebuilt. Sean911s The BAS interior parts were the carpets, under felt, door panels, headliner, trim panels at the lower front kick panels and the rear at the edges of the seats. YEs the whole BAS kit is expensive. I did it in stages over the years, The seats were done by a local upholsterer who specializes in British cars. This alone cost me $4000 cdn. Never owned a Jag before but fixed the problem with no difficulties. Great classic car. I redid all the interior wood over one winter and the engine once when it blew a radiator hose and the driver didn't notice it overheating. Otherwise pretty reliable except for the oil pump swallowing a big end rod cotter pin, jamming and breaking the drive from the distributor. When I built the engine I left off the cotter pins. Never did figure out how that pin got past the oil pump screen. I was surprised to discover that the car locked the rear brakes when you came to a stop and kept them on until you pressed on the gas. My car was obviously an automatic. Studebaker supoosedly invented the \"hill holder\" device but I don't know what other companies used it besides Jaguar. It is still one of the most beautiful sedans IMHO.
