With the saddle interior, this car just screams 70s cool. \r\n\r\nThe dreaded e9 rust conversation .... There is some minor (in e9 standards) rust behind the front wheels on the screw on rocker panel covers. Other than that, no other exterior rust, bubbles, etc. We did not see any signs of any rust repair on the car either. She seems like a good survivor. We tried to document as much as we could with photos. If you want a car that will turn heads, this one will do it. \r\n\r\nRather than having been re-stored, the car has been well cared for. The body is immaculate, as is the interior. Other than a small amount of rust inside the rocker panel, this car is shows none of the cancer endemic to 1970s BMWs. The things that are 'defects' are minor - a missing horn button, the after-market Blaupunkt radio doesn't work (I doubt you saved you cassettes), the shifter knob needs a coat of varnish. \r\n\r\nAssuming it's the original motor, the big M30 doesn't have that many miles on it. This would be a car to drive and enjoy for few years while you plotted what to do. Restoring it to concours condition would be an option. Or you could enjoy the appreciation and flip it for a profit down the road. One thing for certain is BMW isn't making any more of these. Being both rare and desirable portends good things for their future. \r\n\r\nIt is a gorgeous car. Unfortunately, too gorgeous for I'm looking for (which is a platform to build an e9 vintage racer).
