My parents had one exactly like this when I was a little guy (I am a '66 model, myself) and I remember it well. We were at my grandparents for lunch one day. Dad hadn't gotten there yet, but my mom and I were already there. The garage was on the end of the house and the driveway curved up to it. Mom parked catty-corner (sp?) and when my grandmother realized she needed something from the store (the grocery), she hopped in her Bonneville and, without looking in her rearview mirror, she punched the gas pedal... and EVERYONE heard the impact. The car is generally only driven around town and not on long trips where cruise would be useful. There is a switch to enable the system and a tiny light illuminates when it is turned on but the speed control does not engage with the button at the end of the turn signal stalk. \n\nAs for the stainless trim on the lower rockers, yes there are some dents on the passenger side and the driver's side as well. I tried to picture them the best I could. You can see the one on the driver's side behind the front wheel may have been someone carelessly using a jack. Hard to say but I suspect that these dents happened long ago. These dents are on the lower-most trim pieces and are only visible when the car is on a lift or if you're on the ground.
