The block of a K Code car was the same block used in many other cars, including K, A & C Code Mustangs. All the, bolt on, parts (previously listed in the comments and too many to list) make the Factory Hi-Performance (K-Code) engines so special. It is a well-documented fact that not all engines installed new in the Hi-Po cars had VIN stampings. The seller, or anyone else for that fact, can have easily stamped the VIN on the block and no one would be the wiser. The fact that this block has the correct Casting numbers (C5AE-6015E) and most importantly the correct cast-in Date code (which I can't make out clearly in the picture) is the important part. the cast-in date code should be approximately 30-60 days before the build date on the warranty door tag. The other stamping that is relevant, is the \u201cbuild date\u201d stamp on the front of the block right behind the timing chain cover and below left head. So please give the VIN stamping break. These are all original documents.\r\nThe car was owned and the restoration funded by an individual who studied 1965 K code Fastbacks in great detail and collected parts for the restoration from 2004-2008. Other than being built in Metuchen, NJ on June 22, 1965, this car has never been outside of Maryland with the exception of being restored in Harrington DE, by a former and now current Mustang Club of America Judge, who wishes to remain anonymous.\r\nThe Mustang has its original buck tag, specific to the Metuchen plant and the original door tag and are mounted on the car. They all match the original BOS, original title and dealer invoice/Sales agreement, however there is a one digit mis-stamp on the drivers side inner fender stamp. All digits in the fender stamp match all of the aforementioned tags and documents with exception of the 6th digit. The sixth digit is a #7 which was grabbed prematurely where there should\u2019ve been a #1. The 7th digit is a #7. This makes the story of the car even more special, having a one digit mis-stamp. June 22, 1965 was a Monday. If this causes you any suspicion or thoughts of misrepresentation, please move along. The car is not for you.\r\nThis 1965 Mustang is 1 of 65 K codes built at the Metuchen NJ Plant and in the K Code Registry and 1 of 40 K code Fastbacks in the K Code Registry built in NJ. It is also 1 of 1490 K Codes of all K codes in the K Code Registry.\r\nThis 1965 Mustang Fastback K Code GT details-\r\nThis car is a real GT built June 22, 1965 in Metuchen Factory. The build is an educated estimated build date, based on the order form, the sheet metal stamps and consecutive unit VIN numbers.\r\nFastback 2+2\r\nTwilight Turquoise is a rare one year only (1965) color and a 9.5 out of 10 quality. Some very small blemishes which would take a very skilled eyes to find. No swirls anywhere and frankly its gorgeous.\r\nProfessional Rotisserie restoration using mostly date correct OEM parts as when available, however, some NOS (chrome, lights, steering wheel, interior rear view mirror), aftermarket (rear quarters, hood, front/rear glass), reconditioned original parts were used.\r\nCorrect date coded 1965 289 built to HiPo specs and internals, correct date HiPo heads and 4 speed. We can not prove that this is or is not the original motor as we understand that most, but not all, K codes had the Vin casted on the block.\r\nFactory 9 inch (rear end housing from a 1965 K-code, pumpkin is a correct/date correct)\r\nFactory pumpkin is a 3.50 posi-traction rear no tag \u2013 (can be obtained from Marti autoworks)\r\nFactory Correct restored Autolite 4100 4V, with the correct manual choke 1965 version carb (COF5J-the real deal-bought it from Fred Ballard and rebuilt by Fred in 2022)\r\n\r\nCarburetor is missing the tag (they can be made by Marti Autoworks)\r\nComplete and correct aftermarket exhaust\r\nRebuilt Factory Toploader 4-speed transmission (has the original HEH-T TOP LOADER \u2013VIN stamped)\r\nRebuilt Factory 4 speed shifter (not original -it is a rebuilt Hurst shifter from the early 70s that was installed by the original owner) and compliments the car.\r\nFactory reproduction front disc brakes (The front disc brake calipers that currently on the car are reproduction, but have the two original calipers that could be rebuilt and installed if required). They will go with the car.\r\nReproduction FoMoCo hoses and belts.\r\nWindshield Washer (your car has a correct washer pump for 1965)\r\nDriveshaft is a repro; the original driveshaft was extremely pitted; Resto shop had this one made, but no markings;\r\nOriginal Steel Wheels (the style steel wheels are real 1965 ford with very small blemishes)\r\nCorrect Date coded Rebuilt Radiator w/ Shroud (shroud is NOS; radiator is a real date correct radiator for a Metuchen/Dearborn assemble car) The hipo radiator fan is a unique piece, differing from the other Mustang variants.
