But car sits a lot. The compressor shaft seals can dry out causing loss of freon. We have found that if driven weekly it seems to always blow cold. When sitting for months, we need to add a can. Top is almost never up and so we do not worry about it. Car was sold new with dealer kit and we kept it because it is unique. Probably not realistic to actually think it will cool like any GM vehicle. \n\nColors look great in person. Bumpers were tinted lighter \"sealer\" so that the black base was toned down. Almost every plastic component accepts paint different than a metal part. Even on a modern car, I can see \"tonal\" differences on plastic bumpers to fenders and quarters. If you see the slightest difference, than you have a very, very perceptive eye. Don't let that be a hang up :-)\n\nWe know we will never make back our investment. You can imagine the man hours from start to finish, parts cost, upgrades, etc. We want the car to go to a proper care taker who will enjoy it, appreciate it, continue to tinker with it and DRIVE it. Thank you. The new harness is set up for OD. The wire is run and switch has been placed at drivers right knee. The car is original in trans case, engine and chassis. We took a family friends car and 1000% restored it yet kept the original components. The visual modification is lowered, with Panasports and color match bumpers. The chassis has been improved yet, not altered as far as original design parmeters - lever shocks, mounting points and demensions. \r\n\r\nEngine is a rock solid beast of a thumper! Sounds fantastic. Used original block. \r\n\r\nTrans was completely gone through and other than \"lever sizzle\" from worn linkage \"cup\"; it is race ready. \r\n\r\nWe used every bullet proof technique and mod to tech car, but kept it street manners with some attitude. \r\n\r\nCan drop an OD set up in, in 1/2 a day or less. Heck really should only take a few hours for the experienced. To get an MGB to pull strong money is pretty tough, especially with rubber bumpers. MGBs are, IMHO, the best of the British Roadsters - absolutely fantastic cars - but they just aren't worth that much. I mean, a factory V8 just sold for $23k, and a chrome V8 conversion for $14k. How much closer to that can this car get? If you want to minimize your losses, I'd replace the motor with a stock rebuild with SUs, then resell the motor to someone who will appreciate the fantastic specs (those who want this motor don't want this car and those that want this car aren't willing to pay for this motor). Overdrive or 5-speed is also a must if you want five figures for an MGB, IMHO. \n\nI do wish you luck in finding the right buyer at the right price, and I don't mean to come across as too negative. However, the MGB market is a strange one, where great cars aren't worth much more than decent cars, and getting your price might take a while or be impossible (depending on what it is).
