I appreciate the details! \n\nIt is true that many aspects of the Fisker Karma are simple to service, there are usually a couple things many Karma buyers want to know are addressed. \n\nBtw, I have had my Karma for over 13 years now and it\u2019s been trouble free and great! I have annual services and diagnostics performed by Pat\u2019s Garage in SF. I can\u2019t say enough about this car! I love it and will never sell mine. \n\nA few items to be evaluated on any Karma include the Li-on battery pack/module health as well as the rear drive motor condition, traction motor splines, ICE mufflers, etc. And this isn\u2019t to say they will have issues in these areas, they are just known points that are specific to the Karma that should be evaluated. EVolution Motorsports and Pat\u2019s Garage are two mechanics very well versed in these. \n\nBtw, the Karma and Chevy Volt don\u2019t really share any design, except that they are both plug-in hybrids. The Volt has a system whereby the gas engine actually works to drive the wheels in hybrid mode, while also recharging the battery. The Karma is simpler, whereby the gas engine only drives a generator which recharges the battery. The wheels are never directly driven by the gasoline engine, so there is no complex hybrid \u201cmix\u201d of the two drives. He was always raving about his first one. While in communication with Pat\u2019s Garage they alerted him to the availability of this car. If one is good two are better, he acquired this car. Why it became a hanger queen, he was always driving the first Fisker.\n\nCondition of the main battery seems to be fine. I\u2019ve put approximately 350 miles on the car. Around 80% of that under battery power. My usual run is 55-60 miles. Pack is good for 45-48 miles range. This is a combination of stop and go and 80-85 mph running. It has the 120v charger, charge it overnight and it shows 50 mile range in the morning.\n\nMufflers, no leaks, photos are shown in the gallery.\n\nDrivetrain, I don\u2019t feel any backlash in the drivetrain. Using level two regen in stop and go traffic the car is very smooth. I take mine for service to Karma Costa Mesa, CA and routinely see these earlier models in for various jobs. Parts are still very cheap for the small GM 4 banger and the main batteries are available, heaven forbid, if you need them from speciality shops.\r\n\r\nThe best part is you can use just the battery for your daily running around and when you travel, with both the battery and generator, you are good non stop for 350+ miles in complete comfort. \r\n\r\nJust be ready because even non-Fisker/Karma fans will approach you with questions as these cars are rarely seen. Area of the bumper cap proud of the headlight is held down by a piece of Velcro from the factory.
