I drove a 2023 Pro at a visit to the local McLaren dealer a few weeks ago (it was sitting there so why not), I bought a new 2024 the very next morning. If that's not a great endorsement of these, I don't know what is? \n\nToyota put a lot of effort into this truck and in the right way. The Hybrid system is the best part. It is not geared towards fuel economy at all but instead towards increasing the performance. The torque from the iForce Max is up over 100lb ft to a very healthy 583 which mated to the 10-speed auto is simply awesome. The transition to the hybrid system is absolutely unnoticeable and the power band feels like a big V8 pulling hard right away. probably the best strength of this truck is the in-grear acceleration driving around town. Simply lay into the throttle at it's 100% there all the time. Never a hint of lag or hesitation. I always put the drive mode and gearbox in Sport which is the only way to fly. Cornering is excellent for a truck this size. It easily handles bends and tight turns in town at speed and sweepers on the highway. Also worthy of mention are the brakes which are simply superb. I've driven all too many trucks and big SUVs that simply don't stop. This beast has no issues with very hard braking on the highway or spirited braking around town after sticking your foot into all the power the iForce Max has to offer. The 0-60 sprint has been tested at 5.7 seconds and I have no doubt that is accurate. I also have no doubt that the TRD Pro tows like a champ and will stop with a very heavy trailer in tow. I have a few acquaintances are using these as tow rigs and all have commented that it handles their enclosed car trailers and boats with ease.\n\nThis one looks to have a lot of the right mods and 35s and a great look to it. To offset the performance loss of the 35s, a Burger JB4 piggy back box is a great addition and the setup my local PPF shop has on theirs that I drove last week. A great combo. \n\nThe rear cab room is excellent and the full roll down rear window (4Runner style) offers an easy way to let payload from the bed extend into the cab. If someone has dogs, I'm sure they would love it too. \n\nThe only knocks I can give this truck are a large turning radius and lack of a HUD that is available on the Platinum and 1794 version. Other than those, it's a blast to drive and easy to live with. \n\nWhile not a Raptor or TRX, I feel these occupy a very different segment.
