Starting with my original 12k mile 1973 240Z back in 2003, I set out to put together a complete vertical collection of the most original Z-car lineage I could obtain by adding an early series one 240, 260Z, 280Z and 280Z 2+2 to my museum. My love for these cars is clear so when this car came available, I was thrilled and honored to acquire it. Today it proudly stands out as probably the lowest mile 2+2 in the world and the most original car in my collection. For some strange reason, the frame, plus new tonneau, disappeared while in F40's care. The fact that F40 had (apparently) fairly recently (prior to July 2021) placed a 150 OTS back into service for a customer is probably just pure coincidence.\r\nMy recently acquired frame is now in the capable hands of Bassetts, Rhode Island. FWIW, I too remember the wonderful smell of these cars when new and over the years I have managed to own a couple of these S30's that still retain that original 'new' smell. A good place to find that smell is to lift the spare tire cover and poke one's head in the spare tire area and with any luck you will discover that distinctive scent. \r\n\r\nYears ago a coworker of mine went to work at a car detailing supply company and GM used to make a product which I think was aptly titled new car smell (how original).
