There are only three full months left in 2020, so we\u2019re all taking it as a win. 2021 can\u2019t get here fast enough.\n\nChad from the Piggly Wiggly came in and joined us for coffee while he was on his break. It\u2019s kind of funny. For the longest time he laughed at those of us who got the Senior Discount on movie tickets when the theater was still open. Now he frequently joins us for coffee, sometimes even comes back for lunch since we\u2019re all still there.\n\nNow and again he even speaks up.\n\nToday, he commented about the things his parents kept from him when he was growing up. I thought he presented some interesting observations.\n\nHe recalled the time when he was 7 and went out Trick-or-Treating. He came home from making the rounds through Fort Stockton. His pillow case was full. Baby Ruths. Pay Days. M & Ms. Sweet Tarts. The darn thing weighed almost as much as he did.\n\nThe next morning, it seemed so much lighter. The Pay Days were all gone. The other booty not in nearly as much abundance.\n\nAnd then, when he was 16, he discovered a stack of magazines in his dad\u2019s closet that featured full color photographs of adults in poses he had never seen before, most of whom were in stages of complete undress. The resulting time alone would usher him into the early stages of manhood that he embraced with a firm grip.\n\nAnd then at 22, when he was in college, his grandpa had passed and his parents sold the pristine truck that had been his. A beautiful Huron Green \u201954 GMC 100 pick-up. They never even asked him if he wanted it. Just sold without a word.\n\nWe all sat around the table listening to Chad describe each of these milestones in his life, each of us thinking back to our own. So I have a side mount fender with no side mount! Probably time to replace it with a regular fender, if for no other reason than to keep interested bystanders from asking \u201cwhat happened to your fender\u201c.\r\nQuestion: I have a larger mirror on the drivers door that is great for visibility but is constantly bumped when I open the door and knocked out of alignment. Not a question of an adjustment but would have to replace the mirror. Is that an issue with this? First, there is a nice existing hole in the firewall just above the battery (and pretty much behind your fire extinguisher-- love that too) which I used to mount a battery kill switch. Second, I added a hard wire battery maintainer pigtail that hangs down alongside the battery to enable you to easily charge/maintain the battery during periods of storage. Otherwise, accessing the battery requires tools and time to remove the door sill trim, peel the insulation and floormat back, and opening the battery door. If you slacken the screws slightly, you can slide the housing closer to the wheel and eliminate the gap.
