We kicked out the windshield with some cardboard and got it running.\r\nNow, being good Dukes of Hazzard fans, we had good taste in Musclecars and didn't think much of our parents Impala, or the Mercedes sedans of the Kuwaitis, or any other big boats, as we called them. The ugly little Corona became the \"rowboat\".\r\nIt's been about 40 years so I can tell this part... right there off Campus Drive in front of the Blackwelder high-rise student apartments for those that know the Stanford University campus, driving about 30 in light rain, I would place that Toyoglide in neutral and floor the gas. It was sluggish to respond, but after a few seconds it would wind all the way up. Keeping said pedal on the floor, I would then forcibly select REVERSE. \r\nDid I mention how durable, if completely uninspiring this Toyota is? We took turns showing friends how ridiculous a four door little turd looked traveling forward with it's rear wheels smoking backwards until it slithered to a stop and groaned backwards for a bit.\r\nIt wouldn't die. Remember the Dukes... we tried to \"jump\" it. Right up a curb and and embankment into a Field going about 40. Sadly no easy cameras at the time or we would have started Top Gear AND YouTube! Landing was not as smooth as the Dukes made it look, but all that happened to the Corona was little dents on each wheel.\r\nI probably shouldn't reveal any more now.
