I have never found reliable sales data, but obviously the manual makes this one a unicorn as the automatic was a no-cost option. The Highland Green exterior is a rare color and the presence of front and rear painted bumpers (later incorporated into the 2007+ sport package) also make this a unique spec. Take all that and add in the low miles and this one is certainly unique and worthy of consideration. \r\n\r\nThe panoramic sunroof issue can be rather common on this model. Mine still works, but I have been advised to never really open it . The guides in the sunroof movement mechanism will wear and break over time, hence the caution. There is a kit to fix this, but it would be a mid-level DIY job and requires the glass to be removed. Most owners just leave it alone. Typically, the failure is noted with the roof open and it will have to manually closed.\r\n\r\nI have headliner separation that affects my sunroof sliding interior cover which requires glass removal to really fix it correctly, so I might address the sunroof as a preventive measure and go back to using it. \r\n\r\nAs someone also noted below, the cooling system can fail over time in these as a consequence to age, although even with OEM parts (do not skimp on the overflow tank!), it is a relatively cheap pre-emptive repair. I had a non-OEM overflow tank fail on the road near my house and replaced it in a parking lot, so the work with system is fairly straightforward. \r\n\r\nI have sourced a number of worn interior pieces from Ebay and my local salvage yard, so addressing some of the items on this one (missing passenger footwell net, plastic undertray for the front portion of the vehicle (unless removed for photos), should be pretty easy.\r\n\r\nThe oil pan leak will be an involved job, as the subframe has to be dropped to do it right, with the engine supported from above. This is much easier to do on a lift. Then again, it can be left alone and oil added. \r\n\r\nThis one needs some work, but is still a unicorn and would be make a great little project or more of a \"restoration\" if the buyer is motivated. \r\n\r\nI have a G83 M4 and a G05 X5 in the stable, but always love rowing my X3 with its straightforward inline 6 and more \"analog\" experience. I doubt that I will ever sell mine. They had two CPOs and I bought the one with the cold weather package.\r\n\r\n East coast weather is tough but it\u2019s too bad this suv has become more of a project suv. I\u2019ve had mine on the east coast until 2020 but it was always garaged. I drove it from NY to CA with 46k when I left and had no issues. I did have it checked prior to leaving. Was given the green light to drive 3k miles. My realtor in California had a 2008 six speed so we got along great. She gave me her service and auto body contacts. She had 150k on hers and wasn\u2019t giving it up. \r\n\r\nI\u2019ve been blessed with such a reliable vehicle I don\u2019t think I could part with it. The only issues I had was the window washer motor died and the rear passenger window regulator broke. The washer motor was expensive but I diy\u2019d the regulator. I\u2019ve babied it. I never removed the protective coating on the door sills. lol. I am not bidder as I have one that I love, but if it sells right and the new owner is motivated, there is potential here to give life to a unicorn.
