This is one of those automotive unicorns! It\u2019s as easy to drive as an E-Type and the ride quality and handling far surpass that of the original car, and are surprising good even by modern standards!\n\nIt is in virtually new condition with only about 1400 miles from the day it left the factory, and has very few flaws to be found. The top is stowed under the top boot, and the owner has never erected it since taking delivery of the car, so I saw no purpose to do so to photograph it. One benefit of the RHD configuration if you are right-handed is you don't have to adjust to shifting with your non-dominant hand. Pretty much the only downside is not fooling folks who are familiar with the original right out of the box, and of course being able to forget yourself it's not the real deal. When you see the lines of this you can appreciate why the other SS100 replicas, even if just a bit off, don't quite capture the magic. This does. I sat in an original SS100 at a pre-auction preview, and it was surprisingly roomy and comfortable. While I'd love to have an original, for a fraction of the price this would be so much more useable, without fear of damaging a classic, and with the benefits of double or more the original power and modern disc brakes for stopping power. I'm sure the seller won't give it away, but it's still going to be tempting if it stays under $100k. The biggest difference would be the 18-inch wire wheels and period bias-ply tyres, which, although deliciously correct for this SS100 recreation, will not return the same ultimate handling qualities of a 15-inch radial tyre, such as fitted to the E-Types. Unless pushed very hard through the twisties, however, you'd probably never exceed these tyres' grip.\n\n@DN1228 ~ I think you will fit comfortably in this car. The XK120 and XK140 were a tight fit not only because of the narrow space but the Queen Mary-sized steering wheel as well. I'm not sure on headroom with the top erected however, but in photos with it up, it would appear to be sufficient, but likely prevent wearing a fedora. My guess is that the year is listed as '65 or earlier, per the actual instructions for applying under SB100 rules for special construction vehicles. One should have no problem registering the car in any of the other states, unless they require emissions based on engine number, and even then, the running gear is pretty old. \r\n\r\nI doubt that there is anything living in the top. \r\n\r\nA nice feature is the proper Blockly bias ply tires.
