The aprons were installed in lieu of the 930\u2019s rubber front lip spoiler and essentially act as body colored fill pieces that create the leading edge of the front fender flares (again in lieu of the 930 rubber front lip spoiler doing that job). They used to be anomalies. They used to be results of odd circumstances like someone having too many cars, or falling ill. Yes, there have always been a few who stashed them away. Mechanics need to be tended to but the car is still feels fresh. \r\n\r\nIf I were in the market, and could afford it, I would absolutely buy and drive this car, just like someone might buy and drink some vintage bottle of wine. There's just a premium you have to pay for it. Never titled, even better! (Some dealer has a '65 Corvette with Fuel Injection, similar mileage, and never titled.) \r\n\r\nI used to own a lot of cars. Never once did I hesitate to drive one because of mileage concerns. I guess that's the difference between a car collector and a car investor. \r\n\r\nRegarding putting this away vs. the stock market. It has become an artifact of its time and the level of originality can only be preserved based on no/ low usage. Besides, the money is in the miles and every additional mile shaves off $10,000 ... at least (Kidding, but not really). A friend of mine owns the famous 700-or-so miles '70 911S. The car is such an original artefact with so many details that it really is like an art work that deserves to be preserved with applying all the preservation techniques we learn in the art world (Fun fact: That car has a drip run in the paint on the C-pillar from new ...).\r\n\r\nThat also makes the point that those highly original cars are not for everybody as the key aspect is in preserving them.
