I have just gone through the process of importing a Roma from Vancouver to California. I'm going to write it up but, basically:\r\n- The import broker Pete uses will handle everything at the border and arrange covered transport to you (you'll pay them for the duty, fees, transport etc)\r\n- No car modifications are needed (I saw a question about a new dash - that is NOT required as it's a fully digital dash and there's a configuration option to switch from KM to Miles).\r\n- When you get to your home state, there will be a process for registering a new car purchased out of state. There will be forms and you'll have to go to the DMV (or equiv) with the car.\r\n- You will probably need a \"smog\" or emissions test as it's a brand new registration. This is needed even on a brand new car. If so, you'll probably need to fill the gas to 3/4 full and then do a mix of highway and city driving. Get the miles up to 200-250 miles before you do the smog test. That will let the car's internal emissions sensors configure themselves. Otherwise, you'll get a \"not ready\" on your smog test.. ask me how I know! ;) You can also check the sensors are enabled with a standard OBD scanner if you want to check before you go.\r\n\r\nEnjoy the car.. I am loving mine. Have driven only about 300 miles so far but it's awesome. Super comfortable and perfect for touring.
