It turns out there is a process to apply for an exemption to the 25 year import rule for low volume, including special edition models of cars. Once a car is on the list, same year/model can be brought in by someone else. If memory serves me right, the Ghibli Cup cars were on that list. I tried searching the NHTSA site to post the link, but didn't have all day to search. So, there may be hope for bringing this car to the US. Certainly worth the research if one is interested in the car.\nThe Ghibli Cup cars are a pretty special car. Highest output of the entire series on a slightly smaller displacement makes these car super screamers. These had the right upgrades by the factory to make them handle, perform and remain reliable. They just look the part too. I've read road tests of back to back with these and the Shamal and the authors liked the Ghibli Cup better - more manageable power and so quicker around the track. \nHere's some info on the Cup cars (a great Maserati site as well): http://www.maserati-alfieri.co.uk/alfieri00a.htm\n \nThis car looks great in these colors and the fact that it hasn't been modified, to me, is a big plus. Engine is all good If you let it warm up properly. Still on original Turbo's. Gearbox and clutch still OK. Some touch up on paintwork because car is not garaged.
