I had the 3 higher powered one for my subie conversion and they all failed with an occasional no crank. After much research, I had a TDI starter (with adapter) installed and that fixed my issue. Had another starting issue, until I found loose wire from the ECU area near fuel relay circuit (crank but no start) connection in the wiring harness, near the engine bay. Where the Subaru wiring harness connects to the VW fuel pump wiring, as it was loose and not making a good connection. This caused no start and occasional stalling for no reason. Hope it helps if someone buys this and can fix it. \r\n\r\nAs far as the speedometer, try replacing the speedometer cable or at least check the connection in the back of the speedometer and follow it down to the wheel. Reconnect and tighten or Replace if needed. Mine was jumpy as I drove. The speedometer cable fixed that.
