It does sound a bit like some of my 1950s teen-year recollections, but a true Caddy exhaust would have been whisper-quiet.\n\nGood luck to the seller and prospective buyer.\n\nWe love travelling cross-country in our '54 Caddy convertible, and did a 3-month - 10,000 mile trip last year, followed by another 4,000 mile 3-week jaunt this past summer. Our '54 is maintained as it was delivered from the factory, white with a turquoise Haartz canvas convertible top and matching leather interior, but enhanced with under-the-dash Vintage Air. The factory-installed 331 ci OHV V8 has more than enough power and torque to more than keep pace with modern traffic, and the 4-speed Hydramatic transmission is effectively an overdrive when in the highest range. Enjoying the Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Power Seat, and Autronic Eye to automatically change headlights from \"High-to-Low-to-High Beam\" depending upon oncoming traffic makes driving a genuine pleasure, and the floor mounted button allows the WONDER BAR Radio to seek out AM radio stations - and it \"Sounds Like A Wurlitzer\". The only thing which comes close to the pleasure of this '54 Caddy, is driving our 1941 Cadillac convertible. We drove it 2,000 miles in 8 days this past September when our Tow-vehicle 200 Ford Excursion Diesel's Turbocharger died near Rawlins, Wyoming on the way from New Orleans to Twin Falls, Idaho - that at only 365,xxx miles on the clock.
