The old beater was actually only around 15 years old at the time and nothing could stop it except for a foot of snow! But then we just put tire chains on it and it I Year on! But his had a big V6 with a granny low 4 speed! That would pull a house! I\u2019m not sure if the rear end gearing, but I know it had a locking differential! His father had brought it New when my friend was just a young kid, maybe 3-4 years old. But his dad bought it to tow the families Airstream Travel Trailer, that I know was 25\u2019 long! We all called it The Silver Sausage! But we beat the living crap out of that big old SUV! But NOTHING ever broke! I have no issues dear what ever happened to that beautiful old truck/SUV! But it was baby blue, with dark blue interior with the short middle bench seat! His Dad had installed these big beautiful Cadillac Bucket seats up front, power and all! From what I can remember,, he had accumulated over 200,000 miles on it! I remember him buying a new bigger 401 V6 GMC Truck Engine and transmission off my dad who owned a trucking company that had a dozen GMC 8500 straight job refer trucks, one had been totaled in a fire, that I took the engine transmission out of that had no damage, as it was the body and cab that burned, without damage to the engine! At about 200,050 miles we replaced the original 305 V6 4 speed, with the 401 V6 5 speed! That added a lot of passing power and towing power! But brought the mileage down to 8-12 mpg! But gas was still only 25-30 cents a gallon! So he had to add another 20 gal gas tank.
