I am sure that my brother will weigh in at some point and provide some better information since he did all of the heavy lifting on this car but in the interim, here are some tidbits:\r\n\r\n- We bought the car from the original owner in British Columbia. He bought it in Europe when he was living there and brought it back with him.\r\n\r\n- He did the body work before we bought it - I believe the work was done in the early 80s and was extensive. It was a big number in 1980 dollars and included at least front fenders and radiator support. You can see it has the 'standard' support with the cutout for the ducting tube when the ti would not have had that. Given that the work is nearing 40 years on, the work has certainly stood up well. Greg would have had the receipts from the first owner and us but not sure it they are still around.\r\n\r\n- The car had lots of non-original parts on it when we bought it. We were lucky enough to find a ti parts car (also in BC) that was rotten to the core but had all the parts we needed. We took the wheels and hubcaps, steering wheel, clock, air cleaner, original Solex carbs, gear knob, uncracked dash and other bits and pieces. Funnily enough, the car was also Agave and the car's VIN was consecutive to this one.\r\n\r\n- We chased some rust out of the footwells but the floors were solid back then. I have my own peasant model base square light 02, on lowered springs, but I\u2019m not sure where a stock car should be sitting. \r\n\r\nYesterday was my first real chance to spend some time behind the wheel and I wanted to share my observations. \r\n- First off, I stopped to put some non-eth gas in it and noticed the rubber filler neck has a split, so I have ordered a replacement (along with the exhaust hanger it needs). \r\n- The car drove very well and shifts were easy, although admittedly I\u2019m still not used to that dogleg pattern. \r\n- Engine temperature on the cluster held steady all throughout the drive, and while stopping at lights or idling in a parking lot for a while.\r\n- The odometer and trip do not seem to work at this time. I noticed after taking it out that the mileage is the same as it was when it was photographed professionally, but had increased 1 mile from an initial photo I took when I went to Greg\u2019s garage, so there may be an intermittent issue, or the gears could now be done. \r\n- The driver seat back seems to lean to the back/right a bit, so it may need adjustment. \r\nThe auxiliary temp gauges on the dash may not be hooked up, it did not register temp, but the oil pressure gauge was working. \r\n- The sound of dual side drafts is addicting! \r\n\r\nVerifying the car has an LSD behind that dogleg 5 speed was the highlight of my day for sure! California DMV had no problem with it as I also showed them a German 1970 sales brochure and scratched my head!\r\n\r\nThe third owner sold it from Southern California to an Abarth collector in Zurich who uses it for historic rallying in! Says it's better than an Abarth and much more affordable to maintain! This is indeed a rare car!
