It's pretty solid for most of the wear items. Except for the 1981 models, most of the interior trim is available.\n\nIt's just really important to install those decals -- which should be Buckskin (a light tan and not gold) because if you look at this car from the front or side, there is nothing to distinguish it from a TR7. From the rear, sharp eyes will notice the extra tailpipe, but the badging is the only thing that gave the TR8 its identification. \nI love the attention to detail here, which is exactly what did with my red 1981 TR8 automatic that I restored this summer. My friend Steve and I rolled up in his TR3, what did we spot? A row of wedges parked up against a very non assuming brick building, but these wedges looked just a tad different from the back; twin pipes; turned out they we TR8 test vehicles!\r\n\r\nThey didn't need to hide the second pipe, no one was really paying attention to Triumph products by that time anyway.\r\n\r\nI owned an 8 for about 6 mos; a true rust free car from RI that had been parked for 19 years! Interior was full of mouse sh$$t, stunk, and motor was seized, but it really was as rust free a TR you could find in New England, even had the alloy spare and factory manuals in the glove box.\r\n\r\nOnce I freed up the engine and spun it over for a compression test it was running under 100psi on all cylinders, maybe just stuck rings? The pan, valve covers and intake were painted gray, as original. The A/C blows cold, the Delco compressor is quite, the fan speeds work properly as does the heater. All lights, gauges and warning lights work correctly. The low coolant level warning system received an upgraded pc board as well. The seat belt warning system was inactive when I purchased the car and remains so because of the new seat belts, which do not have the necessary electrics. I believe I checked the engine number when I purchased the car but will check today when taking additional pictures and videos. So $9,500 out the door as the dealer covered the fees!\n\nWe had it for about 15 years and sold it at what we believed to be the top of the bell curve for $13,500. All original, all stock, somewhere around 15K miles. Went to a lawyer in Florida who paid to have it transported there \u2013 her dream car at the time.\n\nThese cars are an absolute blast to drive, vintage 70\u2019s/80\u2019s British, and the last - and top - of the Triumph brand \u2013 who wouldn\u2019t want one?
