The brakes are likely because I live in Los Angeles, at times having to drive in stop-and-go traffic. I also don\u2019t downshift when coming to a stop, since brakes are easier/cheaper to replace than transmission components. As for the second timing belt, I don\u2019t recall specifics but i assume it was related to the drive belt replacement which happened simultaneously, likely a while-you\u2019re-in-there type preventative maintenance. I trust the vision of the Independent Volvo Pasadena guys as it\u2019s been running great consistently since I started going there, as seen in videos. As for the rms, it was done by a Volvo mechanic in Santa Monica, and it only started to drip a bit years later, which was diagnosed by my new mechanics in Pasadena. Difficult to see w/o actually removing the throttle body. Unless the b.box has been redone, I suggest that the new owner check that first. It\u2019s a good time to also clean the throttle body and inspect the heater hose. I once replaced a RMS on a 960, under warranty. Not a fun job for many reasons, mainly the cooler lines are always frozen. Once the flywheel was off, I saw that the seal was dry as a bone. After I finished the job with the new seal, I discovered that the oil cap seal was leaking and running to the back of the engine and down. It was a good lesson.
