This one from VT and garage kept. Obtained w 125k on the odo I set my sights on a fresh suspension. 2Bennett coilovers and a full 034 Motorsports front suspension kit w Mahle outer tie rods. Add to that my Hotchkis sway bars which have migrated from all the previous Avants. \r\n\r\nTo the lucky future owner of this example you have a responsibility to maintain it properly for which it shall give you miles of smiles\u2026BUT first let\u2019s all give thanks to the seller for maintaining it and keeping it in fine form. \r\n\r\nIf I may pass on a few observations I see from the photos.\r\nTrue the tire wheel combo is the winter set so to speak, clearing the HP2 brakes. But the tires are ready for a swap. If the new stable is in a winter climate then I suggest winter tred on those wheels for the few months you\u2019ll need them.\r\n17\u2019s for all season and if you can have summer tred on 18\u2019s for the warmer months that will round out all the new shoes for this gem.\r\nUnderstand the shocks and springs should be replaced. That and the sway bars will contribute to the miles of smiles satisfaction quotient. \r\nThe oil I noticed is 5/40 but should really be 5/30. A K&N air filter is a good idea too.\r\nThe center drive shaft will almost certainly be fatigued. A brilliant two piece shaft bearing replacement and be sourced and the driveshaft will NOT require dropping. \r\nThe cats will be costly when you\u2019ll need to replace same. The exhaust system, no longer available from the factory is still made by Ans\u00e4 and is a fraction of the cost of stock (~$700 vs $5,500). \r\nI saw no mention of valve cover gasket replacement, and perhaps at this low mileage no seep or weep or (rarely) leak has occurred, no pictures to see. But they are rubber, rubber dries out and this car is now 20\u2026so keep an eye on them. It is also wise at this mileage to replace the coil packs and the plugs, all of them at the same time. The window regulators eventually fail, usually the rears first. The fronts it is a $17 part and labor, the rears you\u2019ll need the entire mechanism. Look to Shokan for parts. \r\nThe usual minor wear items, cup holder trim, they all fall off. The Nav knob. The rubber \u201ceyebrows\u201d above the turn signal light of the front headlights, they break at one screw location and flap. The headlights can be polished with the 3M kit, a drill and about 3 patient hours. The driver seat bolster on the door side always wear more than any other. A set of sheepskin seat covers will make you forget about it. Another item to watch is just under the engine cover in the front of the engine. The variable intake system is controlled by two Hella vacuum actuators which are solenoid controlled to mechanically position a plastic \u201cdog bone\u201d which attaches to the lever which moves the flaps inside the intake. If the dog bone has broken your engine will lack power. Depending on which one broke will determine where in the power band your are inefficient - the plastic dog bones are available in aluminum from Gruven Parts. The Hella actuators are also found in the Lamborghini V10 and available at a fraction of the cost from Audi (also found on Land Rovers at a low price). \r\n\r\nLastly, have a talk with your insurance agent , making it clear of the value and replacement cost\u2026to them a shunt to a front corner and you are considered totaled. \r\n\r\nI apologize for being long winded but, this is exciting.
