Major engine service required at 100k miles. Supercharger service (mainly changing oil on both sides), timing belt, water pump, S-belt tensioner, crankshaft Harmonic Balancer. Plus the main oil dripings on front seal, oil pan gasket and crankshaft sensor o-ring.\r\nAll can be easily done by a DiY and it is relatively cheap.\r\nAround $700, a weekend, a friend and two six packs should do it for a first timer. A seasoned friend can have this done in a day.\r\nAnd yes, I still have my 04 r53 and not selling it. There was something about the night before, amidst the fun and frivolity, that was nagging at the back your brain? Good - now you know how I felt one Sunday morning seeing the \"You're the Winning Bidder!\" message from eBay.\r\n\r\nAbout a year ago I climbed out of the Uber and is my way spent time rustling through eBay for interesting stuff. I saw this beautiful/obnoxious green Cooper S and was taken by it (apparently). I have always loved these little cars for their \"big dog attitude\" and fun factor, so I dropped in a bid. Candidly, I did not think it was near enough to win, but the next morning...suprise! (I bought a '71 Lincoln Mark III in the same fashion, so I wasn't TOO surprised LOL). Anyway, I won the car and it was fortunately fairly close by. I had it delivered to a shop I use for an inspection, and that's where the fun (for them) started.\r\n\r\nThis little car needed a LOT, as the service records will indicate. I am one of those people that cannot stand to see issues unmet, and now I own the car, so...I did what needed to be done. And in my \"in for a penny, in for a pound\" way, I went ALL in. \r\n\r\nI've always looked at these cars as the automotive equivalent of \"Dress-Up Barbie\" - the after market is so huge, and the opportunity to personalize so great, I jumped in. As it was already eye-popping green, I figured what the h*ll and carried the theme to the interior. The exhaust was shot so I added the Invidia, which makes all the right poppy, snarly noises. I had the car detailed and while my guy is fantastic, the seats had some stains and a small tear so I went with the neoprene covers. (They fit amazingly well, BTW.) Chrome interior dress up kit, Union Jack cupholder inserts, new mats, new door sill trim, etc, etc. Some of you have already commented on the AFX plate; that should tell you about how old I am (and how I old I often act).\r\n\r\nA few questions I expect to come up I will answer now:\r\n\r\n1) Has the supercharger oil been changed? If so I am unaware; not on my watch.\r\n2) Do you get any rub with the wheel fitment? Only rarely, usually on a poorly matched bridge joint.\r\n3) Are there any warning lights, codes, or open recalls? Nope - all addressed.\r\n4) How many keys? It's an eBay buy, so just one, of course.\r\n5) Does the car need anything? Yes - a new owner that likes to have \"thumb's up\" at every stoplight, turn heads at the Cars'n'Coffee, and generally just likes to have fun.\r\n\r\nLastly, why am I selling? Well, if you look at my selling history I just sold my much-loved SL55 a few weeks ago. I have a 2004 R50 and 2005 R53 - neither have the rust issue. My R53 has about 127K on the clock and the clutch is just fine. No work on the SC either at this time. I know a guy off NAM that tracks his R53 A LOT and recently opened up his 2005 R53 SC to find that the gear oil was in great shape and the gears on the Roots-type SC were also in great shape.
