Morgan had the driveshaft from the flywheel to the trans enclosed in its own torque tube but quite similar otherwise. Morgan did it this way to avoid the need for a remote gear shift and guessing the same reasoning may be the case here. I was surprised when I first saw this car in '91 at Monterey. it is't the typical Siata. They were little cars, with little engines. This is really different. \r\n\r\nThe remote mounted transmission is long gone, with a T10 bolted to the 392. Probably changed the weight distribution a little. By 50s standards, this would be a rocket. A Cobra long before the first Cobra. The perfect car to hunt down an Allard, Cunningham, or any of the other V8 specials of the era.
