My intent was to tow it behind an RV. However, heath issues precluded the purchase of an RV.Included in the sale is a never used tow bar, tow light kit, and a never used aluminum cargo carrier fitting the rear hitch. I am now 80 years old. The jeep showed some rust around the windshield frame. I bought a new one. After media blasting to bare metal bondo was noted in one fender and in the hood. I bought a new fender and a new hood. Cosmetically, virtually everything has been replaced. This includes a new glass windshield, new glass side door windows, new door panels, front frame cover, black dash pad, black dash panel overlay with radio cutout, tailgate cables, tire carrier bump stops, hood grill grommets, and all new windshield, cowl, door, hardtop, and tail gate weatherstipping. I also replaced the front seats. The passenger seat has been sat on a few times by my wife. The rear seat was recovered and has not been sat on since. New seat belts were also added. Both amber parking lamp lenses, both amber side marker lenses, and both tail light lenses were replaced. The jeep has been 100% garaged during my ownership and has only been wet twice since it was painted about 8 years ago. That is when I washed it. I have never driven it off road. All body work and paint was done professionally. The jeep runs a lot better with this carb. A few more facts: The speedometer now shows 172,524 miles. Four new 235.75.15 tires were installed on May 2, 2017 (572 miles ago), a new intake and exhaust manifold gasket set installed (675 miles ago), weber carb dealer installed (501 miles ago), electric fuel pump and new starter installed Feb 20, 2019, new battery installed Mar 5, 2020 (95 miles ago), champion copper spark plugs and distributor cap/rotor installed (32 miles ago). Plus, new plug wires, motor mounts, drive shaft u-joints, water pump/thermostat, and master cylinder were installed during my ownership. Most work, including the rebuilt transfer case, was done my shop mechanics. The previous owner installed such things as radiator, valve cover gasket, exhaust system, clutch, fuel tank, brakes, halogen headlamps, steering wheel, and shocks. The T5 is desirable, but in the wrong hands (many owners) it is not a strong gear by nature based on the geometry in the box. It does provide a significant drop in RPM at highway speeds...but \"lugging\" the 5th gear causes too much pressure leading to lots of unwanted noise, and failure. If driven on flat highways...great. I prefer the T4. The fuel in the \"bowl\" might have enough to start the engine, but typically they drain down...leaving the fuel pump to move the gas from the tank to the engine. A fuel injection should handle this problem much better than a carb. And...a warm engine always starts better than a cold one. You have to shake out the bones on these old guys.
