Sadly, I\u2019ve not driven it enough to really break in the engine or even have the confidence to say you would have zero problems.\r\nI personally have driven the vehicle, a couple of miles and had a problem and then another hundred miles and have no problem.\r\nI always am somewhat spooked by the sale of a fresh restoration with no miles as we all know, there are things that always need to be tinkered with.\r\nI do you take this car out on the weekends and drive in the country and it\u2019s been great but I would need more seat time to have that warm and comfy feeling that it is worthy of a cross country drive.\r\nIf you look at the running videos, you\u2019ll see a little condensation dripping out of the left tail pipe, which I believe is absolutely normal, but I also see a little bit of start up smoke. As the car warms up this entirely goes away so my guess is it just needs to be driven and the engine needs to break in so a long drive would actually be great for this motor.\r\nanyway, that\u2019s my honest opinion and owning multiple classic cars I have certainly learned a lesson the hard way. My dad routinely took 500-mile round trips from Texas to Oklahoma, and me and my son took two 1200 mile round trips to Colorado.\r\nThey are heavy, handle like the USS Enterprise, and take a little to get going, and a little to stop. Man are they a hoot to drive with the top down. Nothing like it on the road and everyone gives a thumbs up as they go by. \r\nAllow extra time at the gas station and diners for Q & A's from the public & a demonstration of the hard top in action. A Jerry Miller restored '57-'59 Ford is absolutely the gold standard. If maintained after the restoration you will not find a single flaw or incorrect restored element. His attention to detail is outstanding. His use of actual '57-'59 colors is very creative. His after the restoration support from Jerry and his son is superb. Jerry restored our '57 Sunliner about 10 years ago and we are 100% satisfied. I know what we spent to restore her and I can assure you that waaayy more than $53K was spent.
