This is fairly common on military rigs. The underside looks a little crusty. Military undercoat can hide many sins and literally hold parts of the frames together. I remember whacking a crusty but what looked like an intact outrigger with a hammer to see the condition. It all ended up in a pile of about 200 pieces on the ground by the second whack.
