For example, the boot lid: do its curves -- its peaks and valleys -- line up with and copy exactly the curves, the peaks and valleys of the rear deck and the rear clip. Even if the car\u2019s original panels are used when putting the restored pieces back together, proper panel alignment seems to be difficult to achieve for all but the best restorers. From these photos, it looks like this one got it pretty close to perfect. The body literally was a two year effort to complete. Each panel was fitted against it's mates and metal was even put into the panels to make the body lines line up better than factory. As for the roof, it's fitted to the bows already but it's stowed in the boot, they are removable. You can see it in some of the pictures. The cover for the bows is installed in the pictures too.\n\nMy father made the decision to not install the curtain clips as he realized he would never wet weather drive this car and the clips do take away from the door panels. But yes, the curtains do come with the vehicle. With the quality of this restoration it would be a shame to drive it through bad weather. Ill put TS31187 in my lone catagory of \"over restored\"...respectfully & said with admiration, \"great job!\". \n\nAs many have noted; panel fit, not \"gap\", is perfect. These baby 120's are quite complex with compound curves meeting boots & bonnets. I take one look at this car & all I see is all the metal he added, not replaced, to make this elementary auto snap together:\n\n1. Boot - most notorious problem area on TR. Rain loves to eat these areas up but thats not what Im looking at...usually, \"restored\" TRs show 2-3 of the big flat head bolts holding the chanels together on the inside of trunk, peeking through the \"gap\" of a poorly fitted closed boot (on both sides)...but not this one. The compound curve of rear apron blends into the bottom line of the boot & few people get it right, he did. There is so much metal added to move these angles around. The takeaway...if you see bolts through a closed \"trunk\", you did it wrong. \n\n2. Doors - the forward top curve that nestles into the curve of tub...lots of metal added to make that right. Again, usually \"restored\" TRs whistle dixie through that \"gap\"...but not this one. Very complex as you need to deal with a panel that contends with constant open/close, sagging hinges & precise line up of the \"B\" pillar to close the door...nice job! \n\nNothing else really to say or note, if he was willing to do all that work, Im comfotable that all the rest (mechanicals) was done right. \n\nTS31000 took just over 750 hours to build & I would say the same for TS31187. \n\nAt (USD) $40,000 he's giving this car away, $50,000 you bought it right.
