The process seems a little daunting but it really isn\u2019t!\n\nI believe that arranging logistics for import/transport is more of a collaboration effort between buyer/seller as opposed to it all being on the buyer to figure it out. So, for the successful bidder, I\u2019ll be with you 100% of the way to help as much as I can with landing this very special M6 in your garage!\n\nI'm in no rush to get it out of my stable either so don't feel pressured that you have to have transport arranged before bidding.\n\nHere is some information on the import/transport process:\n\nTo import, you will need the following documentation before you get started:\n1. Canadian bill of sale (which I will forward to the successful bidder)\n2. Canadian title (aka Alberta registration which I have in my name with no liens.)\n3. Certificate of compliance (which I have already obtained from BMW Customer service) It\u2019s viewable in the gallery. This letter states that the vehicle conforms to all United States (Including California) Federal Safety & Emission standards.\n\n-Then you have the choice of selecting from many shipping companies. Rates will depend on the type of transport you choose (enclosed vs open) and location. I have been lucky enough to have experience with multiple shipping companies and I can help you choose based on my previous experiences. \n-Almost all shipping companies will hire a customs broker. What the broker will do is take those three documents previously mentioned and then communicate with US customs on your behalf. The broker fills out the DOT form HS-7 and EPA form 3520-1, submits them to US customs and clears the car. Then when the transport driver goes through the border crossing, he/she will be given these forms filled out and stamped by customs.\n-There will be duty owed at the border in the form of 2.5% of the price listed on the bill of sale that you can pay by credit card. That was one sweet machine with a silky smooth M20 6 cylinder engine - I believe the smallest cylinder size BMW has built in a road cars of recent era :)\r\nLoved that car, had a couple more E30s after that (with a fresher LCI body and M40 4 banger\r\nFast forward few more years and on this side of the pond I ordered a 2008 335xi when I lived in Denver, spec'd it the way I liked it with sapphire gray metallic over a beige sport interior and many other options. N54 was the blast and despite early issues a lot of people experienced I have never had any! That car was a lease and I drove it for 3 years/36K trouble free miles all over the US Rocky Mountain region. I hate to give it back but buying it off lease was ludicrous as right around that time BMW drastically adjusted residual values and it made no sense so I opted to order a replacement 2011 335i M-Sport (RWD this time around as AWD was the only thing I didn't like on the 2008 due to harshness of the front suspension plus I relocated to Texas so wanted to experience the true purity of the car as BMW Gods intended it to be to begin with :)\r\nSo I ordered it with exact everything I wanted and having an experience of owning this platform for 3 years I knew exactly what I needed.\r\nEuropean Delivery is a must for anybody who loves the marque - it is that good. In the M6 GC, they have been an absolute treat. Recently we drove up to the Tetons and Yellowstone and we got 625 miles out of one tank, averaging 27 mpg, while cruising at high speeds; I was blown away by this. The car constantly impresses me.
