The rear suspension turret covers. I completely understand they are fragile.\r\n\r\nTo see the condition of the rear turrets and the suspension mounting points from the underside will also allow me ascertain what (if any) remedial work will be needed.\r\n\r\nHaving owned a few of these E9. They are never perfect, equally. You don't want to be buying a car with poor/functional repairs which will cost vast amounts of money to put right as the car deserves.\r\n\r\nTo restore one of these correctly including where they rust out. You are looking at around $130,000+ for a nut and bolt rebuild and sheet metal repairs. or part thereof depending on what level you wanted to achieve with the car. The problem is. There were numerous things that are incorrect or need to be repaired on this car. I would classify this car as a \"driver\" at best. The RHD cars are trailing the LHD cars by quite a bit, especially in countries where LHD is the rule. It is very hard to drive a RHD vehicle on LHD roads. Making Left turns and trying to see around opposing traffic is miserable. The engine is a non original replacement, the wheel arches are copies of OEM arches, the rocker panels are missing the trim strips, the wheels are 16\" which look great, but are not OEM 14\" etc. etc.\r\nThe value in a CSL is in the super rare OEM parts that make it a CSL and not just the Aluminum panels. The cool factor and drivability of this rare e9 are totally worth the price of admission. This car is $100k plus in restoration costs away from being a show worthy example. As a driver it was fairly bought and fairly sold.
