This is when i fabricated the flanges and replaced the CAT, then had Miller re-tune the car and added a second tune (switchable in the glove box) which will pass CA smog. I then fabricated the twin cherry bomb muffler section to run between smog checks so the CAT does not get consumed so fast. I have one more flange gasket and a CAD file for the gasket is included with the rest of the documents. It had an original muffler, a CA added CAT from some other same vintage BMW but had only 1.5\" pipe leading forward to a fabricated runner and log manifold type \"header\" that was cracked at every weld. I sourced a used OEM header from an employee at DINAN and picked the rest out myself and had a great local Hot Rod fabricator fab up the system. Having Dan at Miller Performance tune the system made a huge difference in driveability and power delivery. Once that was done there was no going back and I could not see putting a new CAT every 2 years. Necessity being the mother of invention, I just listened to my mother and designed the bolt in.
