It also looks to be a Ford Germany sourced engine as it has the oil filler spout at the front and is inclined rather than upright. The English Kent engines had a shorter spout at the back of the cover and upright.\r\n\r\nIf it is a 1600 Kent, then it is more appropriate for the Mk1, as this is the combination of the Escort Mk1 Mexico.\r\nIt's a better combination than was in the Escort RS2000 with its Pinto based engine, as the Pinto engine was considerably heavier.\r\nFrom a pure personal taste perspective I would loose the ugly red mudflaps, I think it confuses its image, and I would try and find a set of Mk1 Mexico or RS2000 instruments.\r\nPersonally I don't like the garish white stripes.
